Assessor Guidance

This section provides guidance documents to Green Deal Assessors and Green Deal Advisors operating under the Green Deal. More infromation for how to become a Green Deal Assessor is available on the Become an Assessor page of this website.

Producing a Green Deal Advice Report

The Green Deal assessment is made up of two parts – the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) which rates the property in terms of energy efficiency and gives recommendations for improvement, and the Occupancy Assessment (OA) which modifies the output of the EPC to reflect a household’s actual energy use.

Green Deal Advisors need to be qualified to undertake EPCs (a Domestic Energy Assessor/ EPC Assessor and active registrant of  DEA accreditation [EPBD] scheme or Approved Organisation in Scotland) and to hold a Green Deal Advisor qualification based on the National Occupational Standards (NOS) https://ukstandards.org.uk/Pages/index.aspx
